Pain, Sometimes

Now I understand why
Some people are found dead
with a deep slit
cut their wrist

Now I understand why
Some people look serene
like greeting fairies from folklore
while their blood scatters on the floor

Now I understand why
Some people volunteer going to war
and come back with immortal scar
and end up dying
for souls they owe nothing

Now I understand why
Some people dare to date Elmaut
unafraid of being cursed
by running until they burst

Now I understand that
pain, sometimes
can be the only cure
for loss
and loneliness
